CaixaForum Madrid

CaixaForum Madrid is an art and cultural centre on Paseo del Prado, opened in 2008 in a building converted from the Central del Mediodía, a power station dating from the 1900s. It was redesigned by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, who left the original brick shell suspended above ground level. The adjoining plaza is known for its Vertical Garden by botanist Patrick Blanc.
