Edificio Metrópolis

Edificio Metrópolis stands on Calle de Alcalá 39 in Madrid, built between 1907 and 1911 by French architects Jules and Raymond Février in an ornate Beaux-Arts style. Its cupola is covered with 30,000 leaves of 24-carat gold and has been topped since 1977 by the winged Victoria Alada statue, replacing an earlier sculpture of the Phoenix and Ganymede.
