Plaza de Cibeles

Plaza de Cibeles is a square in central Madrid where Calle de Alcalá, Paseo de Recoletos and Paseo del Prado meet, spanning the Centro, Retiro and Salamanca districts. It is centred on the Cibeles Fountain, sculpted by Francisco Gutiérrez Arribas and named for the goddess Cybele, a symbol of the city. The square is framed by the Bank of Spain, Palacio de Buenavista, the Palace of Linares and the Cybele Palace, now Madrid's city hall, and is where Real Madrid traditionally celebrate victories.
