Palacio de Cristal
The Palacio de Cristal is a 19th-century glass-and-iron conservatory beside the lake in Madrid's Buen Retiro Park, inspired by the Crystal Palace in London. Built in 1887, with its cast-iron frame manufactured in Bilbao, it served as one of the main venues of that year's Philippine Exposition. Laid out in the shape of a Greek cross on a decorative ceramic-brick base, it now belongs to the Museo Reina Sofía and is used as one of its temporary exhibition spaces.
