Kioskos de Florida Park
Kioskos de Florida Park
Los Kioskos is the big open-air terrace of Florida Park, the historic leisure complex inside the Parque de El Retiro, and it holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol. Six kiosks serve a varied run of tapas among the trees: crisp torreznos, Iberian ham croquetas, Retiro-style bravas, Spanish omelette and burgers, with drinks and cocktails alongside. Flamenco artists play live at weekends, and the terrace is at its best in the warm months, from late afternoon into the night.

El picoteo era solo el principio. 💃🍻

Background
About Kioskos de Florida Park
The Story
Florida Park occupies a nineteenth-century building inside the Retiro that has been a spa and a tea room, and, as a party hall, hosted artists such as Tina Turner and Ray Charles. Today it's a food and leisure complex with a restaurant led by chef Iván Cerdeño, a tapas gallery, a summer rooftop, a nightclub and Los Kioskos, the open-air terrace. The kiosks earned a Solete in the Guía Repsol's summer 2022 round, as the terrace to choose for an evening in the Retiro.
The Cuisine
Informal tapas spread across six kiosks, built for sharing at an outdoor table. The Guía Repsol recommends the torreznos al estilo Florida, crunchy outside and melting inside, and the Iberian ham croquetas, along with the Bravas del Retiro, Spanish tortilla and the 'Gallery Soul' burger.
Florida Park, Then and Now
The building has had many lives, from spa to tea room to one of Madrid's famous salas de fiestas, whose regulars are said to have included Ava Gardner, Lola Flores and Rocío Jurado. The modern complex, designed by interior designers Guillermo García-Hoz and Pascuà Ortega, now splits into several spaces: El Pabellón, the restaurant with chef Iván Cerdeño's menu; La Galería, a semi-open tapas room; La Terraza, a rooftop by the dome open on spring and summer weekends; the Florida Motel & Casino nightclub; and Los Kioskos, the terrace among the trees.
Planning a Visit
Los Kioskos is a warm-weather venue and its timetable changes with the season. Listings show it closed on Monday and Tuesday and open from late afternoon, around 18:00, until about 01:00, later on Friday and Saturday, with flamenco shows at weekends. Tables can be booked by phone. The kiosks' own web pages are currently offline, so check Instagram or call ahead, especially outside summer.
