Port Vell
Port Vell ('Old Port') is the historic harbour at the foot of Barcelona's old city, occupying the oldest spaces of the Port of Barcelona. By the late 20th century it had become a run-down zone of empty warehouses and industrial docks, and it was redeveloped under a special plan approved in 1989 as part of the urban renewal preceding the 1992 Olympics. The transformation opened the city to the sea, turning the area into a yacht basin and leisure complex with the Moll de la Fusta promenade.
