Square
Plaça d'Espanya
Plaça d'Espanya is one of Barcelona's largest squares and a major transport hub in Sants-Montjuïc, built for the 1929 International Exposition. Designed by Josep Amargós and completed in 1929, it features a central fountain by Josep Maria Jujol and the two 47-metre Venetian Towers that frame the avenue leading up to the Palau Nacional. It also borders the former Les Arenes bullring, now a shopping centre, making it a key gateway to Montjuïc.
