A Guide to Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid
Where is the Santiago Bernabéu, and which Madrid barrios surround it?
The Santiago Bernabéu sits in Madrid's Chamartín district, bordered by streets including Padre Damián, Avenida Concha Espina and Paseo de la Castellana. The neighbourhoods immediately around it include Hispanoamérica, Nueva España and El Viso, spilling into Castillejos and Cuatro Caminos in the Tetuán district to the west.
What does a Michelin Bib Gourmand mean?
A Michelin Bib Gourmand is the guide's mark for good cooking at a moderate price, separate from a star. One restaurant on this list, La MaMá, currently holds one.
What is a Repsol Sol or Solete?
A Repsol Sol is the Guía Repsol's main quality distinction, awarded from one to three Soles. A Solete marks a standout casual spot below that tier, and Recomendado is the guide's basic listing. Several restaurants on this list carry one of the three.
What is a casa de comidas?
A casa de comidas is a modest, home-style Spanish restaurant built around daily specials and traditional recipes rather than an elaborate carta. Latasia and Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra both work in that format near the stadium.
How We Built This List
Years of Eating, Asking, and Going Back
We built this list from the Madrid restaurants we've profiled whose own address sits on or immediately around the streets that run by the Santiago Bernabéu: Padre Damián, Avenida Concha Espina and the stretch of Paseo de la Castellana nearest the stadium. We checked it against a Madrid newspaper's coverage of a tapas route through the same streets and a food blog's Chamartín roundup, which confirmed Materia Prima as a bona fide pick. A few restaurants sharing a name with ones we already cover, including a branch of Arzábal, turned out to sit at a different address entirely, so we left them out rather than guess they were the same place. We haven't profiled several of the small tapas bars and Bernabéu Market food stalls those sources name, so they don't appear here yet. We also don't have enough verified detail on one Bernabéu Market stall to give it a full entry, so it's an honourable mention only. No walking times or distances appear anywhere in this guide; where it matters, we've named the street instead.
More on how we rank: our methodology and quality standards.

The ranking
13 Best Restaurants near the Bernabéu in Madrid
DiverXO

1. DiverXO — Dabiz Muñoz's three-Michelin-star flagship, right on Padre Damián
DiverXO is chef Dabiz Muñoz's flagship, the only three-Michelin-star kitchen in Madrid, inside the NH Eurobuilding hotel on Padre Damián, the street that runs along the stadium. Muñoz opened it in 2007, took his third star in 2013, and the restaurant has since ranked No. 4 in The World's 50 Best Restaurants in both 2024 and 2025. There's no à la carte: the tasting menu, La Cocina de los Cerdos Voladores (the cuisine of the flying pigs), is rewritten from service to service rather than by season, and runs €450 per person as a prepaid ticket, deducted from the final bill. Tables seat a maximum of four, and reservations open on a rolling 90-day calendar. It's closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which is worth checking against any match or concert date.
Pabú

2. Pabú — Coco Montes's Michelin-starred plant-led tasting menus in Hispanoamérica
Pabú is chef Coco Montes's vegetable-led restaurant on Calle de Panamá in Hispanoamérica. Montes trained under Alain Passard at the three-Michelin-star L'Arpège in Paris before opening here in November 2023, and the kitchen won a Michelin star within a year, alongside Restaurante del Año 2025 from the Academia Madrileña de Gastronomía. The menu is micro-seasonal, built mostly on vegetables, fruit, cereals and legumes with only a little meat, poultry or fish, and it changes daily with what suppliers bring. Three tasting menus run: Pate, eight dishes named for Montes's father, at €220; Pate Medias, the same eight in smaller portions, at €200; and Bubú, six dishes named for his mother, at €180. All three include filtered water, sourdough, olive oil and coffee or tea, and every menu can be adapted for allergies, with vegetarian and vegan versions always on offer. It's lunch-only Tuesday to Thursday, with dinner added Friday and Saturday.
VelascoAbella

3. VelascoAbella — Two Santceloni veterans' own Michelin-starred room in Hispanoamérica
VelascoAbella is chefs Óscar Velasco and Montse Abellà's first restaurant of their own, on Calle Víctor Andrés Belaúnde in Hispanoamérica. The pair spent close to two decades at Madrid's two-Michelin-star Santceloni, Velasco in the kitchen and Abellà on pastry, before Santceloni closed for good after the pandemic. They opened here in June 2023 and won a Michelin star in the 2025 guide, plus two Repsol Soles. The tasting menu runs six savoury courses and two desserts for €138, with an optional cheese course for €12 more; à la carte starters run €33 to €54 and mains €35 to €59, including hake with Maresme peas and John Dory with lentils and bone broth. It's open Tuesday to Saturday, lunch 13:30 to 15:30 and dinner 20:30 to 22:30, closed Sunday, Monday and all of August.
RavioXO

4. RavioXO — Dabiz Muñoz's Michelin-starred pasta bar inside El Corte Inglés
RavioXO is the pasta-and-dumpling arm of chef Dabiz Muñoz's univerXO group, with its own entrance on Plaza de Manuel Gómez-Moreno inside the Gourmet Experience at El Corte Inglés Castellana. It opened in May 2022 and won a Michelin star six months later, plus one Repsol Sol. Lázaro Rosa-Violán designed the black-and-gold room, and the open kitchen splits into a service line on show and a separate workshop where the pasta and dumplings are hand-folded daily. The carta names the technique behind each dish and runs from the wontollini soup of mortadella in a hot-and-sour hen broth to a Txangurro Singapore crab dumpling, a Korean-bolognese bao of venison and cheung fun of Rubia Gallega beef with XO sauce. There's also a single tasting menu, 360º Festival, at €165. It serves lunch and dinner every day.
La MaMá

5. La MaMá — Bib Gourmand 'renewed tradition' cooking, built for group tables
La MaMá opened in 2015 at Avenida de Brasil 6, in the Castillejos barrio of Tetuán, and has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand every year since 2019. Chef Marcos Toranzo, who trained at San Sebastián's Luis Irizar school and cooked at the Michelin-starred Ermitaño, runs a kitchen built on tradición renovada, traditional Spanish recipes given a lighter turn. The carta runs from hand-cut acorn-fed Ibérico ham and two versions of Russian salad served with palomas, wheat crusts nodding to Salamanca's Plaza Mayor, to charro-style tripe, Ibérico ham croquettes and a carved old-cow loin at €56 (€29 for a half). Two tasting menus are built for the whole table: Los Clásicos at €58, and a seasonal menu at €70. It seats groups up to eight online, and larger groups from nine through a set menu from eleven guests. It's open Tuesday to Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday.
Latasia

6. Latasia — Spanish-Peruvian-Asian fusion casa de comidas from two chef brothers
Latasia is the casa de comidas of chef brothers Roberto and Sergio Hernández, on Paseo de la Castellana in Castillejos, Tetuán. It opened in 2016. The name splices 'Latino' and 'Asia,' and the menu folds Spanish, Peruvian and Southeast Asian cooking into one carta: ceviches and tiraditos, chilli crab, dim sum and curry, a wok-fired candied sweetbread with yakiniku, and an aged grilled T-bone. It's a small, casual room of about 40 seats with an open kitchen, and it's listed in the Guía Repsol as Recomendado. Its torrija has twice won Madrid's best-torrija competition, in 2019 and 2025. It's closed Sunday and Monday, and group set menus run €57, €67 or €77 per person.
Yakitoro

7. Yakitoro — Spanish tapas grilled yakitori-style on charcoal skewers
Yakitoro is a yakitori taberna on Paseo de la Castellana in El Viso, Chamartín, and holds a Repsol Solete. The idea came out of a trip to Japan: Spanish recipes cooked in yakitori style, tapas skewered and grilled live over charcoal, with tables set around the grills and ice pools for drinks. The name blends 'yakitori,' the Japanese grilled skewer, with 'toro,' the Spanish bull. It's not in the Michelin Guide, but its Solete marks it as a standout casual spot in the Guía Repsol. It's a casual, sociable format built for skewers and drinks rather than a formal sit-down meal, and it sits on the same Castellana corridor as several other entries on this list.
Materia Prima

8. Materia Prima — Pick-your-own market seafood and meat, built for groups
Materia Prima opened in 2012, created by Ricardo Garrastazu around a market format: diners choose the exact fish, shellfish or meat and the amount, as at a market stall, then decide how the kitchen cooks it. It's on Calle Doctor Fleming in the Hispanoamérica area of Chamartín. Signature plates include the socarrat and the gamba blanca de Huelva, white prawns from Huelva. The room is built for groups, with a terrace, several dining areas and private reservados for events. It's open daily, with later hours Wednesday to Saturday, and runs roughly €51 to €100 per person.
Carta Marina

9. Carta Marina — Galician-leaning seafood and shellfish on Padre Damián
Carta Marina is a seafood restaurant on Calle Padre Damián 40, in Hispanoamérica, leaning Galician: Galician scallops and oysters, percebes (goose barnacles) from Cedeira, and wild fish like hake and turbot, alongside langostinos from Sanlúcar. There's a broad wine list and house desserts. The room has a terrace and is flagged as good for groups and families. It's a few numbers up Padre Damián from Rocacho, on the same street that runs alongside the stadium. It's open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, and lunch only on Sunday.
Rocacho

10. Rocacho — Charcoal grill on the stadium's own Padre Damián
Rocacho cooks a la brasa, over charcoal, on Padre Damián 38 in Hispanoamérica, the street that runs alongside the Santiago Bernabéu. The kitchen is ingredient-led and traditional, open to the dining room, and the carta is published at rocacho.com. It shares a website and Instagram with Rocacho Plaza in Salamanca, but the two are separate restaurants with their own addresses, hours and Michelin listings. This Padre Damián branch has a terrace, a modern room with plenty of natural light, and quick service. It's open every day, 13:00 to 16:30 and 20:30 to midnight.
Alduccio

11. Alduccio — Handmade Italian pasta and pizza on Concha Espina since 1962
Alduccio has cooked Italian food on Avenida Concha Espina, right by the Santiago Bernabéu in the El Viso barrio, since 1962. Its own history traces back to founder Aldo Sebastianelli, who the restaurant says brought pizza to Madrid in 1957 before opening this restaurant a few years later; Alduccio bills itself as the first Italian restaurant in Madrid. The kitchen still turns out handmade fresh pasta the way the founders learned it at home, fettuccine, lasagna and gnocchi, alongside pizza. There's a terrace, and the room is set up for families and groups. It's closed Mondays, with lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and lunch only on Sunday.
Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra

12. Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra — Rafa Zafra's home-style Spanish cooking inside the Eurobuilding
Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra sits on Padre Damián, in Nueva España, inside the NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding, the same hotel that houses DiverXO. It's traditional Spanish home-style cooking, seasonal, with some more modern plates alongside; the full carta is published as a PDF on the venue's own site. The room is quiet and cosy, and the service reads attentive and warm. It's open every day, lunch 12:30 to 16:00 and dinner 19:00 to 23:30.
99 Sushi Bar Eurobuilding

13. 99 Sushi Bar Eurobuilding — Quiet ingredient-led Japanese counter on Padre Damián
99 Sushi Bar Eurobuilding sits on Padre Damián, in the comfortable, residential stretch of Hispanoamérica near the stadium. The room reads quiet, refined and modern rather than dramatic, built as much for a date as a group, with a tasting counter for anyone who wants to sit close to the work and a terrace for when the weather cooperates. The kitchen is Japanese and ingredient-led rather than about volume, and the full menu is published on 99 Sushi Bar's own site. It runs lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and on public holidays, with Sunday limited to lunch. This Padre Damián address doesn't carry a Michelin or Guía Repsol distinction.
The bigger picture
The Santiago Bernabéu stadium Scene in Madrid
The streets immediately around the Santiago Bernabéu carry an unusual density of kitchens, from Dabiz Muñoz's three-Michelin-star DiverXO to a Japanese counter in the same hotel. Padre Damián runs along the stadium and does a lot of the work: DiverXO, Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra and 99 Sushi Bar Eurobuilding all share the NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding, with Rocacho and Carta Marina further down the same street. Avenida Concha Espina carries Alduccio, trading in Italian pasta and pizza since 1962, and Paseo de la Castellana strings together Latasia and Yakitoro, two very different kitchens, fusion and yakitori, on the same avenue. Michelin recognition clusters here too: alongside DiverXO, Pabú, VelascoAbella and RavioXO all hold a star within a few streets of each other, in Hispanoamérica and Cuatro Caminos. For something built for a group table before or after a match, La MaMá's Bib Gourmand kitchen and Materia Prima's pick-your-own market format both take larger parties.
