Background
About Voro
The Story
Voro is the two-Michelin-star restaurant of chef Álvaro Salazar, set in a separate building within the Cap Vermell Grand Hotel in Canyamel, on Mallorca's northeast coast. It is the only two-Michelin-star restaurant in the Balearic Islands, and it also holds three Repsol Soles. Repsol's highest distinction, shared by only a handful of restaurants in all of Spain. The name comes from the Latin for 'to devour'.
The Cuisine
Salazar, originally from Linares in Jaén, describes his approach as cuisine without constraints, built on his Mediterranean roots and a commitment to the surrounding environment. Voro is served as a single modern, creative tasting menu ('Devoro') whose sections follow the sun's journey through the day: Dawn, Zenith and Sunset. Dishes reference the chef's native Jaén, the island of Mallorca, and the Mediterranean Sea.
