Three Mallorca hotels earn Two Michelin Keys, bringing the island total to seven

Mallorca picked up three new Two Michelin Key hotels in the Michelin Keys 2026 selection, presented on 18 September 2026. Cap Vermell Grand Hotel in Canyamel was promoted from One Key to Two, while Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor in Pollença and Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca in Palmanova entered the guide directly at Two Keys, without having previously held One Key. That takes the island to seven Two-Key hotels, up from four in the previous selection.

The other four had already held Two Keys: Cap Rocat in Cala Blava, La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel in Deià, and Hotel Can Cera and Hotel Can Ferrereta in Santanyí. Economía de Mallorca reports these were the four Mallorca hotels named Two Keys in the first Spanish edition of the Michelin Keys, back in 2024. Mallorca also keeps a wider group of One-Key hotels, among them Hotel L'Avenida in Sóller.

Cap Vermell's promotion comes with a food credential already in place: its restaurant Voro, run by chef Álvaro Salazar, holds two Michelin Stars. Keys and Stars are separate distinctions: Stars go to restaurants, Keys go to hotels. Economía de Mallorca notes that Michelin doesn't award Keys on the basis of a hotel's official star category or its chain; inspectors look at architecture and interior design, the quality and consistency of service, personality and character, value for the experience, and the hotel's contribution to its surroundings.

Cap Vermell Group chief executive Toni Mir, quoted by Mallorca Magazin, called the second Key "ein großartiges Geschenk für die gesamte Familie Cap Vermell" ("a great gift for the whole Cap Vermell family"), adding it was "kein Zielpunkt, sondern ein Ansporn, jeden Tag noch ein Stück besser zu werden" ("not a finish line, but motivation to get a little better every day"). The award lands in the hotel's tenth anniversary year.
