Yeca Estrit Fud
Yeca Estrit Fud is the street-food kitchen of Argentine chef Germán Bernardo, who cooked at Sudestada, Chifa Boteco and Kitchen 154 before going it alone, and it holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol. It started in a tiny room in Lavapiés, later moved to a corner of Paseo de la Chopera near Matadero, served its last meal there on 30 January 2026 and has reopened at Calle de Alonso del Barco 4, a step from the Glorieta de Embajadores and La Casa Encendida. The short menu travels from Thailand to Vietnam, Indonesia and India: laab neua, bún chá, nasi goreng, char kway teow, banh xèo, a famous green curry, dumplings and a torrezno taco.

Background
About Yeca Estrit Fud
The Story
Germán Bernardo, an Argentine cook who learned Southeast Asian cooking at Sudestada, Chifa Boteco and Kitchen 154 and on trips through Thailand and Vietnam, opened Yeca Estrit Fud in a tiny Lavapiés room with four tables and nine dishes. It became one of the neighbourhood's hits, then moved to a corner of Paseo de la Chopera, near Matadero and the Manzanares, keeping the same compact room and street-food spirit. After a last service there on 30 January 2026, the restaurant moved again, back closer to Lavapiés, to Calle de Alonso del Barco. It holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol.
The Cuisine
Southeast Asian street food with Chinese, Indian and Korean touches, reinterpreted by Bernardo, on a short menu of about a dozen dishes. Curry pastes are made in-house, the heat is measured, and there are vegan and coeliac options.
What to Order
The carta runs to a green chicken curry with pumpkin, a torrezno taco and fried dumplings filled with kimchi, tofu and roast sweet potato, with Chinese black-vinegar sauce. Laab neua, a Thai salad of beef with lime, toasted rice and lots of herbs, comes spicy and fresh; bún chá brings rice noodles to dip in a broth with meatballs, pork belly and pickles; and the Kambing lamb burger with lemongrass, ginger and chipotle has been on the menu since the start. The Guía Repsol also recommends the aloo paratha and the tom yum soup. Kulfi with cardamom, saffron and pistachio has been the dessert.
Hours and Booking
Yeca opens Wednesday to Sunday for lunch (14:00 to 17:00) and dinner (20:30 to midnight), and closes on Monday and Tuesday. Bookings are taken online, with a choice of low or high tables.

Calle de Alonso del Barco 4, a step from the Glorieta de Embajadores, between La Casa Encendida and the restaurant Uskar. The nearest metro is Embajadores (Line 3). It moved here in early 2026 from Paseo de la Chopera.
Nearby
Embajadores is old working Madrid, dense and unpolished, and it rewards anyone willing to walk its side streets. The eating runs from taverns that have been there for generations to newer rooms doing something quite different. El Rastro spills through it on market days, and Lavapiés is the same conversation continued uphill.
