Background

About Can Majo

The Story

Can Majó was born in 1968 in the fishing neighbourhood of La Barceloneta, founded by Enric and Maria, who transformed a local fish house into a taverna marinera with refined touches. Enric, son of a neighbourhood fisherman, chose the daily ingredients while Maria worked the kitchen. Their children Enric and Rosa now continue the family tradition in the same waterfront address, keeping the restaurant rooted in the maritime heritage of the neighbourhood.

The Cuisine

The kitchen serves traditional Mediterranean seafood cuisine built around rices, fresh fish and shellfish. Paella is the house calling card, alongside arros negre, fideuà, suquet, grilled fish and lobster prepared either a la plancha or 'Can Majó style'. Product comes daily from the Galician, Cantabrian and Mediterranean coasts. Around 45 EUR per person without drinks.

The Team

Second-generation siblings Enric and Rosa run the dining room and kitchen alongside their team, continuing the family tradition set by their parents in 1968. Google reviewers give the restaurant 4.3/5 from 3,039 reviews. The sea-view terrace under white umbrellas is one of the most popular in the neighbourhood.
