Church
Santa Maria del Mar
Santa Maria del Mar is a church in Barcelona's Ribera district, regarded as one of the purest examples of Catalan Gothic architecture. It was built relatively quickly, between 1329 and 1384, under architects Berenguer de Montagut and Ramon Despuig, with the local guilds of the Ribera quarter taking part in its construction. It is admired for its unusual stylistic unity and its wide-spaced octagonal columns and luminous interior.
