The Story

Orvay opened in early 2018, a personal project of Vicente Orvay and Anabel Lazaro. Named after the founder's surname, the restaurant sits directly opposite the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar on Passeig del Born. The interior was designed by Isern Serra and Sylvain Carlet (who met at the Antoni Arola studio), creating a space inspired by the winemaking process -- earthy tones in the entry, deep green in the main dining room, and pinkish hues in the private room. The design was featured in Dezeen, Yellowtrace, and Hospitality Design.

The kitchen serves creative tapas and small plates made with market-sourced local produce, paired with an extensive wine programme.
