Doppietta opened in 2023 in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood, conceived by British restaurateur Badr Bennis and Italian chef Nicola Valle from Brescia. The pair had previously collaborated on their neighbouring restaurant Benzina. The name and decor pay homage to the Mille Miglia, Italy's legendary open-road endurance race from Brescia to Rome (1927-1957), Valle's hometown race. The space, a former car workshop, is decorated with vintage race photographs and Italian automotive memorabilia.
