Cap de Formentor

The northernmost point of Mallorca, known locally as the meeting point of the winds, with cliffs dropping roughly 300 meters to the sea. Its lighthouse opened in 1863, and the winding 13.5 km road from Port de Pollença was built in 1925 by engineer Antonio Parietti. Hotel Formentor, built in 1928, sits near the cape and drew early 20th-century celebrity visitors.
