Best Rooftop Restaurants in Palma

Introduction

The Mallorca Rooftop Restaurants in Palma List We Send to Friends

Palma's rooftop scene splits into two camps: hotel restaurants perched high enough to catch the cathedral, and terraces further up the coast that trade the old town for open water. Urbà, on the roof of Hotel El Llorenç Parc de la Mar in the old town, comes from Grup Santi Taura, the group led by chef Santi Taura, with a menu built for sharing. Cuit by Miquel Calent runs eight floors up at the Nakar Hotel on Avinguda Jaume III, with its own rooftop bar next door. Suculenta Port de Sóller, the outlier on this list, sits in Marina Tramontana at Port de Sóller, not in Palma at all, with its own rooftop and a view of the Serra de Tramuntana.

The short answer

Key Picks at a Glance

In a hurry? These are the essential picks from our full ranking below.

  • Best cathedral view
    Cuit by Miquel Calent

Eighth-floor tasting menus looking out over the cathedral, Bellver Castle and Palma Bay.

  • Best for Asian fusion
    Restaurante Katagi Blau

Sushi, sashimi and teppanyaki under vertical gardens above the Bay of Palma.

  • Best for a sunset date
    L'Àtic Restaurant

A seventh-floor room looking over the city, the bay and the illuminated cathedral at sunset.

  • Best for sharing plates
    Urbà

Grup Santi Taura's rooftop, built for sharing rather than separate courses, over Parc de la Mar.

  • Best worth-the-drive rooftop
    Suculenta Port de Sóller

Not in Palma at all, but a rooftop, terrace and beach bar over Port de Sóller's harbour and the Tramuntana.

A Guide to Rooftop Restaurants in Palma in Mallorca

The scene

None of the three serve the same thing. Urbà works shared plates across an international-meets-local menu. Cuit leans into a tasting-menu format from Miquel Calent's kitchen, alongside breakfast, snacks and a Sunday brunch that pauses in July and August. Suculenta keeps things Mediterranean and produce-led, with a rooftop, a terrace and a separate beachside bar called Bar La Base. All three take direct bookings, by phone, email or through TheFork, and all three publish hours that move with the season, so it's worth checking before you go.

Where is Urbà's rooftop in Palma?

Urbà is on the roof of Hotel El Llorenç Parc de la Mar, Plaça de Llorenç Villalonga 4, in Palma's old town. It's run by Grup Santi Taura, the group led by chef Santi Taura.

Which floor is Cuit by Miquel Calent on, and what's the view?

Cuit is on the eighth floor of the Nakar Hotel on Avinguda Jaume III in Palma, with views over the cathedral, Bellver Castle and Palma Bay. Chef Miquel Calent runs the kitchen.

Is Suculenta's rooftop actually in Palma?

No. Suculenta's rooftop is in Marina Tramontana at Port de Sóller, on Mallorca's northwest coast, not in Palma.

Does Cuit by Miquel Calent have a rooftop bar as well as a restaurant?

Yes. There's a separate rooftop bar next to Cuit's dining room, with cocktails and a resident DJ, alongside Miquel Calent's tasting-menu kitchen.

How We Built This List

Years of Eating, Asking, and Going Back

We built this list the slow way, and with only three real rooftop kitchens worth naming near Palma, the bar was more about being distinct than being numerous: no two of these serve the same thing. We weighed what each place is actually known for, Urbà's shared-plates format from Grup Santi Taura, Cuit by Miquel Calent's tasting menu eight floors up at the Nakar, and Suculenta's Mediterranean cooking out at Port de Sóller, rather than defaulting to whatever sits closest to the cathedral. Suculenta isn't even in Palma, but it made the cut because the rooftop itself is worth the trip, not because of where it sits on a map. All three publish hours that move with the season and take direct bookings by phone, email or TheFork, so we've said so rather than assuming a walk-in table.

More on how we rank: our methodology and quality standards.

Cuit is chef Miquel Calent's restaurant on the eighth floor of the Nakar Hotel on Avinguda Jaume III, where the draw is as much the view, the cathedral, Bellver Castle and Palma Bay, as the cooking. The kitchen runs two tasting menus: a six-course version at €59 with a bluefin tuna tartare in orange marinade, Majorcan scarlet shrimps with black pork secreto and sobrasada noodles, and a cod loin with vegetable rice, and an eight-course version at €84 that adds a grilled Majorcan squid and a grilled beef entrecôte with Porreres mushrooms. There's also breakfast, snacks and a Sunday brunch that pauses in July and August. Next door, a separate rooftop bar runs cocktails and a resident DJ. It's open Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays for the restaurant itself.

The Rooftop Restaurants in Palma Scene in Mallorca

Palma's rooftop scene splits into two camps: hotel restaurants perched high enough to catch the cathedral, and terraces further up the coast that trade the old town for open water. Urbà sits on the roof of Hotel El Llorenç Parc de la Mar in the old town, from Grup Santi Taura, working shared plates across an international-meets-local menu. Cuit by Miquel Calent runs eight floors up at the Nakar Hotel on Avinguda Jaume III, with a tasting-menu format plus breakfast, snacks and a Sunday brunch, and its own separate rooftop bar next door. Suculenta Port de Sóller is the outlier, sitting in Marina Tramontana at Port de Sóller rather than Palma itself, with Mediterranean and produce-led cooking across a rooftop, a terrace and a separate beachside bar called Bar La Base. None of the three serve the same thing, and that variety, more than proximity to the cathedral, is what defines the scene.

Practical tips

Know before you go

A short survival guide for eating rooftop restaurants in palma in Mallorca— everything we wish we’d known on our first trip.

  1. 1

Urbà books directly through Hotel El Llorenç, by phone (971 67 77 70) or email (info@elllorenc.com), and mixes walk-in daytime hours with separately booked lunch and dinner slots.

  2. 2

Cuit by Miquel Calent takes reservations by phone or email and adds a Sunday brunch, which pauses in July and August.

  3. 3

Suculenta's rooftop and terrace book through TheFork or by email at reservas@suculentaportdesoller.com; hours shift by season, closed Tuesdays in May, open daily June through September.

  4. 4

Suculenta is in Port de Sóller, not Palma, so plan the trip out of the city if that's the one you want.

  5. 5

Menus, prices and hours can change with the season at all three, so check each restaurant's own site before you go.
