Pui's Thai Tapas
Pui's Thai Tapas is the first restaurant of Thai chef Pui, who arrived in Spain in 2010 and set up on Calle de José Antonio de Armona, in the Palos de la Frontera area of Arganzuela, and it holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol. The Guía Repsol describes a small room that transports you to Thailand with a very long carta, where the classics are essential: red or green curry, pad thai and tom yam soup, its own top recommendation. The recipes come from Thai street food, made with ingredients brought from Thailand, and the kitchen serves all day.

Background
About Pui's Thai Tapas
The Story
Chef Pui landed in Spain in 2010 with all the cooking experience of Thailand, and opened Pui Thai Tapas in Madrid with the aim of serving authentic, traditional Thai street-food recipes made with ingredients brought directly from home. Through constant contact with Thailand, Pui keeps refining the recipes. This Arganzuela address was the first Pui's Thai Tapas, and it holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol.
The Cuisine
Thai, specifically the traditional street-food end of it, with ingredients the venue says it brings in directly from Thailand, served tapas-style for sharing. It's vegetarian-friendly.
What to Order
Start with the Guía Repsol's pick, tom yam gung, the hot-and-sour prawn soup with lemongrass, kaffir lime and chilli, or the coconut tom kha gai, both available with tofu. The 'Pui's tapas' section includes cheese and ham spring rolls, Thai khanom jeeb dumplings of pork and water chestnut, Pui-style crispy fried chicken and sun-dried pork strips. Then salads like prawn and green apple pla gung or a salmon namtok with toasted rice, papaya som tam, pad thai, and green, red or Massaman curries.
Hours and Booking
Pui's opens every day for lunch (13:00 to 17:00) and dinner (from 20:00, until midnight on Saturday and Sunday). Book by phone or by email.
