Pizzas use Italian tomato and fiordilatte mozzarella, alongside fresh pastas, lasagne, Abruzzo-style lamb arrosticini and a family tiramisù, and it opens for lunch and dinner every day.

Background

About La Pizza è Bella

The Story

La Pizza è Bella introduces itself in Italian: 'Welcome to my pizzeria-ristorante. I was born in Italy, in Macerata; I'm a pizzaiolo, cook and pastry chef, and through my dishes I'd like to pass on the taste of my beloved land.' The Guía Repsol, which gave it a Solete in autumn 2021 in its Fast Good category, describes Mikele Corsalini as a first-rate pizzaiolo and a great host, and the menu bills the house tiramisù as 'the recipe of Michele's nonna'.

The Cuisine

Italian pizzeria and trattoria cooking. Pizzas are built on Italian tomato and fiordilatte mozzarella made from 100% Italian milk, and the kitchen also turns out fresh pasta, lasagne and antipasti, with vegetarian options and a menú del día.

The Pizzas

The list runs from a Margherita at €10.90 through prosciutto e funghi, capricciosa, quattro stagioni and quattro formaggi to house specials around €14.60: the Pizza è Bella with fresh sausage, mushrooms and Parmesan, a Genoese pesto pizza with courgette and burrata, a truffle pizza with egg, a Romana with bacon and gorgonzola, and a carbonara pizza with pecorino and pancetta. The Guía Repsol recommends the Napoli, the quattro stagioni and the Margherita.

Pasta, Antipasti and Dolci

Lasagna classica is the chef's own pick among the pastas, alongside tagliatelle, spaghetti and gnocchi with a choice of sauce, ravioli alla sorrentina and a pasta of the day. To start there are arrosticini all'abruzzese (spiced lamb skewers with honey-mustard sauce), aubergine parmigiana, provolone al forno, porchetta with garlic focaccia, beef carpaccio and a burrata salad. Desserts include the tiramisù, a chocolate coulant and Italian gelato, and there's a Negroni sbagliato to drink.

Hours

It opens every day for lunch and dinner: from 13:30 to 16:00 and 19:30 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday, straight through from 13:30 to 00:30 on Friday, from 13:00 to 00:30 on Saturday, and from 13:00 to 16:00 and 19:30 to 23:30 on Sunday. Tables can be booked online.
