La Pequeña Graná is a Granada-style tapería on Calle de Embajadores, in the Chopera quarter of Arganzuela. Open since 2009, it keeps the Granada habit of a free tapa with every drink, and here you choose it from a list of 20 that changes several times a year. There's Alhambra beer on tap, a seasonal carta of raciones, half-raciones and burgers, and a private room downstairs for groups.

Background

About La Pequeña Graná

The Story

La Pequeña Graná opened in 2009 to bring a slice of Granada to Madrid, built on the idea that hospitality is measured in the tapas that come with each drink rather than the bill.

The Cuisine

Andalusian tapas served Granada-style, a free tapa chosen by you with every round, backed by a rotating menu of raciones, half-raciones and burgers.

How the free tapas work

Every drink comes with a free tapa chosen from a list of 20, renewed several times a year. Up to three people at a table pick the same tapa; groups of more than three can choose up to two different ones. Examples from the current list include battered aubergine with hummus and cane honey, an XL 'sirenita' of cuttlefish, prawn and alioli, a big ham croquette, and tiger mussels with escabeche mayonnaise.

Raciones and the private room

The carta, served in half or full portions, runs to a house cachopo with ham and goat's cheese, grilled or Andalusian-style baby squid, calamari rabas, broken eggs with ham, morcilla or gulas, and fried aubergine with cane honey, plus burgers, potatoes and desserts. A private room on the ground floor can be booked for birthdays and group parties as a package with 15 raciones to choose from.
