Dot Café Bar opened in 2019 on Calle de Eugenio Sellés, in the Chopera area of Arganzuela, when María and Ros left a comfortable life in Barcelona after stumbling on the space, and it holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol. The coffee comes from Nomad, and the menu is deliberately simple, built on very good ingredients and covering the whole day: brioche bikinis, pastrami sandwiches, toasts with salmon, avocado and egg, a spicy chickpea curry soup and home-baked sponges, or a beer and ensaladilla after work. There's a terrace, dogs are welcome, and it closes on Tuesday.

About Dot
The Story
Dot began almost by accident: María and Ros came across the space without looking for one, fell for it, left Barcelona and moved to Madrid to open the café in 2019. Neither of them is a cook, so they set out to write a short menu where the ingredients would be excellent and everything would sound familiar, with something appealing at any hour. In 2021 they opened Super By Dot next door, a small shop of products they love, from chocolate and olive oil to soft drinks and bottle openers, chosen from small producers.
The Cuisine
Specialty coffee from Nomad, plus matcha and iced coffee, with casual all-day food. The Guía Repsol recommends the pastrami bikini, the pulled pork and a curry soup with chickpeas and a touch of heat; diners also mention the classic brioche bikini, salmon and avocado toasts, yogurt with granola and the home-baked sponges, with vegan options and a fuller brunch at weekends.

A relaxed, design-minded café-bar: two big ceramic lamps set the tone and colour scheme of the room, and it draws a neighbourhood crowd, families included. The Guía Repsol describes a very young team serving excellent coffee. There's a terrace, dogs are welcome, and the entrance, restroom and seating are wheelchair accessible.
