Pulperia Can Lampazas was founded in 2013 by Jaime Veiga Chaos, a Galician from the village of Lampazas in Samos, Lugo, who arrived in Barcelona at 21. The name combines the Catalan 'Can' (house) with his home village. Before restaurants, Veiga built a nightlife empire in Barcelona as the 'Rey de la Noche' (King of the Night). The flagship Paralelo location serves over 115,000 diners per year. A second location on Carrer de Buenos Aires opened in l'Eixample, and Casa Lampazas Madrid followed in the Salamanca neighbourhood.

The kitchen centres on traditional Galician cuisine, with the star dish being pulpo a feira cooked in a copper caldeiro by maestro pulpeiro Enrique Arango.
