The Story

La Palmera was founded in January 1994 by Rosa and Mateu, who opened a charcuterie in an old, centrally located colmado in the Eixample. The space sold quality products that customers could buy or taste in a warm, cosy setting decorated with shelves of wines and gourmet goods. Over time, the tasting evolved into a full restaurant offering Catalan gastronomy with international influences. In 2002, David, their eldest son, joined the team.

The kitchen serves Mediterranean cuisine built on products of maximum freshness and quality. La Palmera is especially known for its foie gras specialties: apple tatin with grilled fresh foie (28 EUR), toast with mushrooms and fresh foie (25 EUR), and raviolis stuffed with fresh foie (20 EUR). The menu also features Jabugo ham, Cantabrian anchovies, grilled beef fillet, and seasonal dishes. Starters from 7-18 EUR, mains from 15-34 EUR.
