The building dates to the mid-19th century, and the hotel leans into that: interior walls nod to the industrial look of Catalan textile factories, while outside there's a stone facade with stone from Egyptian quarries, red marble and columns around the entrance. Rooms are arranged around a central courtyard under a glass roof. The 77 rooms run from singles to doubles with balconies, plus family rooms and duplex suites with a terrace and a semi-private pool. The art is the real hook: around seventy Hindu and Cambodian pieces, plus a set of Roman mosaics, are spread through the lobby, the bar and even the guest rooms.
