The Story
La Gormanda opened in 2017 at Carrer d'Aribau, 160, the personal project of chef Carlota Claver and her husband Ignasi Céspedes. From the start it was built around a simple but demanding idea: a seasonal kitchen anchored in quality produce, where modern technique and traditional Catalan recipes live comfortably side by side. In the years since, it has become one of Eixample's most recognised neighbourhood restaurants, Repsol Recommended, awarded by TV3's Joc de Cartes as Barcelona's most recommended restaurant, and named Best Restaurant of the Year by.
The Cuisine
Seasonal Mediterranean, chef Carlota Claver's kitchen works with what each season offers, building dishes that connect classic Catalan recipes with contemporary technique. The menu changes regularly with the produce. The wine list focuses on small producers. The restaurant asks guests not to forget to ask about off-menu dishes (fuera de carta).
