About Can MarLau

The Story

Can MarLau opened in October 2022 on Carrer de París, 161, in l'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, the first restaurant of chef-founder Ferran Soler Ferrer. Soler trained at CETT in Barcelona, then built his CV through stages at El Bulli (2004) and El Celler de Can Roca (2018), six years cooking at Saüc in Barcelona, and time at Albert Adrià's Paral·lel projects Tickets and Bodega 1900, where he was head chef. The Can MarLau identity is contemporary Catalan cooking with that lineage behind it, breakfast, lunch, and Thursday-Friday dinner in a neighbourhood setting.

The Cuisine

Contemporary Catalan cuisine built on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Service spans fork-breakfast (9:00–13:00, Thu–Fri from 10:00), lunch (13:00–15:30), and Thu–Fri dinner (20:30–22:30). The kitchen runs a strong wine programme and a bar offer alongside the dining room. Dishes referenced by the restaurant and its social feed include pig ear with pa amb tomàquet, squid meatballs, Spanish tortilla, steak tartare, oxtail with violet potato, and pannacotta. Average spend approximately €35 per person without drinks.

The Team

Chef-founder Ferran Soler Ferrer opened Can MarLau in October 2022 after a CV built at CETT, El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca, Saüc, Paral·lel, Tickets, and Bodega 1900 (where he was head chef).
