Background

About Idilio Cocina y Vino

The Story

Idilio Cocina y Vino is a neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar on Carrer d'Antoni Frontera in Palma, opened in March 2024 by three friends: chef Ricardo Navarro, sommelier Alejandro Vivas and journalist Miguel Pich. The project is built around the idea of hedonismo de barrio, neighbourhood hedonism, pairing an approachable, shareable kitchen with a serious wine list in a small, casual room.

The Cuisine

The kitchen serves Spanish and Mediterranean small plates designed for sharing, reinterpreting traditional dishes such as bravas, fried puntillitas and stews with a personal touch. Some dishes are cooked over live fire, including a fire-grilled aubergine and a chargrilled artichoke on the current summer carta, and the kitchen's signature is smoked meats cured for five days and served stacked in a tower, such as the pastrami tower, alongside sauces, salad, bread and gherkins. The menu changes seasonally; the current version is called Carta Verano 26.

The Sommelier

The Team

Chef Ricardo Navarro is a graduate of the Basque Culinary Center who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurant kitchens, hotels, catering and private-dining settings before co-founding Idilio; he's known there as "the poet of the stove." Sommelier Alejandro Vivas runs the dining room and wine list, and trained at Marc Fosh's and Martín Berasategui's restaurants before joining the project. Journalist Miguel Pich, the third co-founder, handles hospitality and communications for the restaurant.
