The Story
Monty's Alcalá is one of four Monty's addresses in Madrid, alongside Chamberí (Ríos Rosas 38), Montecarmelo (Avenida del Monasterio de Silos 40) and La Terraza de Monty's in Canillejas (Fenelón 2). The restaurant says it received its Repsol Solete in November 2023. It opens seven days a week, which makes it as much a breakfast and merienda stop as a dinner and drinks place.

A creative carta with a Mediterranean base and plenty of detours: baos and tostas, Tex-Mex and Mexican plates, Japanese touches, Roman-style pinsas and grills, with gluten-free options marked on the menu.
What's on the Carta
The September 2026 carta opens with 'panes, baos y más pecaos': marinated salmon panipuri with quail egg, steak tartare toasts with fried-egg mayo and piparra, a calamari bao and a wonton lasagne with Asian bolognese. Sharing plates include smoked cecina croquetas, Tex-Mex nachos, Soria torreznos, a potato tortillita with Mallorcan sobrasada and Arzúa cheese, prawn gyozas and a Russian salad with prawns. From there it moves to burritos and tacos de cochinita pibil, a burger with goat's cheese and bacon, Milanesa Argentina, Japanese-style fried chicken, lomo bajo tataki, a cachopín of pork loin filled with ham and cheese, and slow-cooked BBQ ribs. Pinsas run from La Carnívora to a burrata and mortadella version with pistachio, and desserts include Lotus and Oreo cheesecakes, Manchego cheesecake and torrija with leche merengada ice cream. Mains are mostly €12 to €17.
Breakfasts, Set Menu and Cocktails
Breakfasts and meriendas cover churros con chocolate, American-style breakfasts, tostas and croissants, and there's a daily menú del día of home-style dishes served Monday to Sunday. In the evening the cocktail list (mojitos, margaritas, caipiroska, a passion-fruit michelada, Aperol spritz) is sold two for €14 with dinner. The group has several sites with private rooms and offers cocktail-style menus for groups of up to 100, and the carta notes a 10% supplement on the terrace.
