The Story
Pan y Pepinillos was opened as the kind of coffee shop its founders wanted to visit: specialty coffee taken seriously, without taking itself too seriously. The name, bread and pickles, is a small wink at an unexpected pairing done with care. The room is small and Japandi-inspired, with a no-laptops rule kept from the start.
The Cuisine
Single-origin specialty coffee from rotating European and Spanish roasters, never blends, with espresso, flat white, cortado, batch brew and V60. The kitchen does honest breakfast and brunch, avocado toast, scrambled-egg tostadas and sweet brioches, plus pastries from Madrid bakers and signature pistachio and matcha lattes.
