The Story
Blackbird Coffee Corner is a specialty café a few steps from the Sagrada Família, opened by Pedro Reale, an Argentinian who spent eighteen years in hospitality and holds a degree in Hotel Management before the pandemic pushed him to start something of his own. It's a deliberate refuge in a stretch of the Eixample long dominated by big chains and fast food: a small corner built for people who chase a properly made cup. The beans come from Barcelona roaster Nomad Coffee, pulled on a Victoria Arduino machine, with espresso, filter, cold brew and decaf all on offer and plant-based milk (Oatly) for those who want it. Alongside the coffee there's homemade pastry, including vegan and gluten-free options the pistachio cake is Pedro's own pick plus banana and carrot cakes and light breakfast and lunch. Reale runs it with a neighbourhood-café spirit, growing a regular community of locals and curious travellers.
