Nomad Coffee is a specialty-coffee bar in Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, on Passatge de Sert. Founder Jordi Mestre won Spain's National Barista Championship in 2012 and again in 2013, and started out serving coffee from a cart in London's street markets before opening Nomad in Barcelona. It's built around the cup: espresso and filter from single-origin beans, plus those same beans bagged for retail so you can brew them at home. It's a coffee-first spot, not a brunch restaurant, and it runs weekdays with walk-ins welcome. Urquinaona is about a 4-minute walk.

Background

About Nomad Coffee

The Story

Nomad Coffee is a Barcelona specialty-coffee name, and this is its Passatge de Sert bar in Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera. The focus is the coffee itself: espresso and filter, brewed from single-origin beans. The same beans go home with you in bags, so you can dial in the cup you had at the counter on your own kit. Nomad also runs a training side, The Coffee Academy, with barista and SCA-certified courses for people who want to go deeper on specialty coffee.

The Cuisine

Specialty coffee, served as espresso and filter from single-origin beans. Whole-bean retail is part of the offer, with bags ranging from around €14.50 to €130 depending on the coffee. This is a coffee bar rather than a brunch kitchen; check in-person for whatever food is on the day.

Getting There

Nomad Coffee sits at Passatge de Sert, 12, a short pedestrian passage in Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, in Ciutat Vella. The nearest metro is Urquinaona (L1/L4), about a 4-minute walk, with Arc de Triomf (L1) roughly 5 minutes out. It's an easy stop between the upper edge of El Born and Urquinaona.

Nearby

Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera is one of the old quarters of Ciutat Vella, the dense medieval core that runs up toward Born and the Santa Caterina market. Streets here are narrow and walkable, the kind you cut through on foot rather than drive. A tucked-away passatge like Passatge de Sert fits that pattern: small, quiet, a step off the busier routes.
