La Bodeguilla opened in 1986 in the heart of Palma, on Carrer de Sant Jaume. It started as, and still works as, both a restaurant and a wine shop: you can drink and eat in the two-floor dining area where wine barrels are used as tables, or buy bottles from the shop. It's a family business and part of Grupo Amida, the Palma hospitality group behind Periplo Portixol and other venues. It's listed in the Michelin Guide.
The Cuisine
Spanish cooking rooted in Mediterranean tradition, with the product front and centre. The kitchen describes treating ingredients with 'sencillez, humildad y técnica' (simplicity, humility and technique), cooking to order with the best of each day. The other half of the draw is the cellar: more than 300 Spanish and international wine references, which the restaurant calls its second great asset alongside the food.
