What days are the markets in Mallorca?
There's a market somewhere on the island almost every morning of the week. Our day-by-day table lists the towns for each day, drawn from the filings town halls make to the Balearic Government's commerce directorate. Market days can shift around local festivals and out of season, so confirm with the town hall before travelling.
Which is the biggest market in Mallorca?
No official ranking exists, so we don't claim one. By published stall count, the largest of the markets we cover is Pollença at around 300 stalls, followed by Santanyí at more than 150, both figures from the Balearic Government's tourism service. Inca's Thursday market is also one of the largest by area.
Which is the best market in Mallorca?
It depends what you want. Sineu is the most traditional and the only one still trading farm animals. Alcúdia has the best setting, inside the medieval walls. Pollença is the biggest by stall count. For food specifically, Palma's covered markets (l'Olivar, Santa Catalina, Pere Garau) beat any of the weekly village markets.
Are the markets in Palma open on Sunday?
No. Mercat de l'Olivar and Mercat de Santa Catalina are both closed on Sundays, per their own sites. Several village markets do run on Sunday, including Pollença, Alcúdia, Muro, Felanitx, Llucmajor, Sa Pobla, Santa Maria del Camí and Valldemossa.
What time do Mallorca's markets open?
Most run in the morning and wind down in the early afternoon. Where an official source publishes exact hours we list them on the market's own page (Alcúdia and Pollença 8:00 to 13:30, Sineu and Sóller 8:00 to 14:00, for example). Where no official source publishes hours, we say so rather than guess.
Which Mallorca markets can I reach by train from Palma?
TIB's three train lines from Palma pass through a number of market towns. Inca sits on all three (T1, T2 and T3) and Sineu is on T3 (Palma to Manacor). The lines also call at Santa Maria, Consell, Binissalem, Lloseta, Muro and Sa Pobla, all of which hold their own weekly markets. Everywhere else on this page needs a bus or a car.
