Murades d'Alcúdia i Pol·lèntia

Alcúdia, on Mallorca's north coast, was founded by the Romans as Pollentia after their conquest of the island in 123 BC; remains of the Roman town, including a small theatre, survive just outside the later medieval walls. The medieval town walls surrounding Alcúdia were begun in 1298 and finished in 1362, with additional Renaissance-era fortification added later, and much of the wall circuit can still be walked today. Alcúdia's outer wall was eventually partly demolished as the town expanded.
