La Lonjería cooks fish and seafood at the far end of Avenida de la Albufera, in the Palomeras Sureste barrio of Puente de Vallecas, and it holds a Solete in the Guía Repsol. The family behind it spent more than three decades supplying Madrid's restaurants with fish and seafood as Pescados Madrid, opened a gourmet shop and then turned it into this restaurant, now run with a new generation. The Guía Repsol points to the cod with goose egg, coquinas, tortillita de camarón, rodaballo, grilled octopus and red prawns, and there's a tapas room with a bar, a private dining room and a terrace.

Background

About La Lonjería

The Story

The family behind La Lonjería spent more than three decades distributing fish and seafood across Madrid, under the name Pescados Madrid and supplying the hospitality trade, before opening a gourmet shop and then this restaurant. The site frames it as a family place now run by newer generations, and it carries a Repsol Solete.

The Cuisine

Fish and seafood, sold and cooked by people who know the product from the wholesale side. The house specialities are grilled prawns with coarse salt, red-tuna tataki, cod with a goose egg and rodaballo, alongside smoked and cured fish, premium conservas, croquetas, fried pescaíto and ibéricos, with gluten-free options available.

What to Order

The Guía Repsol's list is long: rodaballo, grilled octopus, artichokes with cheese and bacon, the chef's salad, calamares de potera, cod with goose egg, coquinas, grilled zamburiñas, red mullet, red prawns a la plancha, red-tuna tataki and ventresca with tomato. The suggestions board adds red prawns by the kilo, large carabineros from Ayamonte by the piece, sole and gilt-head bream by weight, and an Iberian secreto cooked low and glazed with teriyaki.

Conservas, Smoked Fish and Caviar

The shop's roots show in the cured and tinned section: Cantabrian anchovies with chips, boquerones en vinagre, a 'matrimonio' of the two, gildas, smoked mackerel and Benfumat salmon, plus tins from producers like Escuris, Herpac, Real Conservera and Cambados, from red-tuna morrillo to natural clams, razor clams and baby squid. There's also Beluga caviar in tins from 10 to 100 grams.

Hours

La Lonjería opens every day, from 09:00 Monday to Saturday and from 11:00 on Sunday. The kitchen serves lunch daily from 13:30 to 16:00, and dinner from 20:30 to 23:00 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Bookings are taken, and the restaurant is step-free.
