Junk Burger opened its first restaurant at Calle de José Abascal 31, in Ríos Rosas, in February 2020, a month before the pandemic. It makes smash burgers on bread baked to its own recipe, with beef delivered fresh daily, nothing frozen, and hand-cut skin-on chips. Its 'La Campeona' won a Spanish best-burger championship in March 2022, by the brand's own account. The room is casual with a terrace, closed Monday and Tuesday.

The Story
Junk Burger started in February 2020 at José Abascal 31, a month before the pandemic. By its own account it was a pioneer of smash burgers in Madrid and Spain, and in March 2022 won a national best-burger championship as the only smash burger entered. It has since grown into a brand with more locations, including Glorieta de Bilbao, and a big delivery operation.
The Cuisine
Smash burgers on house-recipe bread from a partner bakery, beef from a free-range farm delivered fresh every day, hand-cut skin-on potatoes and local fruit and vegetables. Nothing is frozen, the brand says.
