The Story
Il Posto started in 2023 with Il Posto di Bravo in Chamberí, and Il Posto di Conde, on Calle del Conde de Peñalver in Salamanca, followed a few months later. The group has since added Príncipe de Vergara, Montecarmelo and Cava Baja, five trattorias in all. The partners' brief was simple: somewhere to eat well, feel at home and be reminded of trips to Italy.
The Cuisine
Home-style Italian, with many recipes from the chef's nonna plus dishes picked up on travels. The group names this branch and Bravo as where its house dishes took hold: rigatoni genovese with onion-braised oxtail, the pistadela pizza with mortadella and pistachio, delizie al limone and cannoli.
The room
Conde has an open kitchen, so you can watch the cooks at work, and a glassed-in terrace that works year-round. The house is not shy about its tiramisù either, calling it the best in Madrid, which is a claim you can test for yourself.
