Ciento Treinta Grados is a bakery and specialty-coffee roaster that started in 2017 in this small shop on Fernando el Católico, in the Arapiles quarter of Chamberí, and holds a Repsol Solete. It's still where the coffee is roasted; the bread and pastries, from hogazas to croissants and monkey bread, now come from the group's obrador on Sánchez Pacheco.

Background

About Ciento Treinta Grados

The Story

Cientotreintaº began in 2017 in a small Madrid shop, this one, with an oven, a roaster and the idea of making bread and coffee properly, without rush or pretension. For months the obrador worked in the middle of the room, in full view. When they outgrew Fernando el Católico they moved the bread production to a larger obrador on Calle Sánchez Pacheco, and later opened a shop on Santa Teresa with a short brunch carta. The house lists Mejor Pan de Madrid 2020, third-best roscón of 2024 and Mejor Panadero 2024 among its awards.

The Cuisine

Bread and coffee. The obrador bakes country hogazas, linseed-and-oat and semi-wholemeal loaves, chapatas, baguettes and a rustic loaf called the RAF, plus croissants, pain au chocolat, monkey bread and seasonal pastries, with panettone and roscón to order. The coffee is specialty and traceable, roasted on an omni profile that works for espresso and filter, from Ugandan, Ethiopian and Kenyan beans to single-farm Colombians.

How to Book Ciento Treinta Grados

Experience

Ciento Treinta Grados Dining Experience

A working shop more than a designed café: for months after opening the bakery sat in the middle of the room and coffee was roasted between trays of croissants and fresh loaves. It's a place for a coffee and a pastry or a loaf to take home.
