Casa Neutrale Wine Bar, at Amador de los Ríos 1 in Almagro, is a small, candlelit natural-wine room with a proper kitchen, one of five Casa Neutrale venues in Madrid. Spanish and French natural wines, orange wine included, go with short-list plates: Santoña anchovies, a tiradito of sea bass in leche de tigre, red-prawn carpaccio al ajillo, a sticky-rib sando, bluefin tuna tartare, steak tartare and cacio e pepe with cured yolk. Few tables, so book. It opens evenings only, Tuesday to Saturday.

Background

About Casa Neutrale Wine Bar

The Story

Casa Neutrale is a small Madrid group of five places under one name: Casa Coffee Shop on Calle Regueros for specialty coffee and bakery, Casa Plaza, a café-restaurant with a terrace on Plaza Cataluña, this Wine Bar on Amador de los Ríos, Casa Música on San Mateo with DJs and cocktails, and Casa Bar, a casa de comidas on Santísima Trinidad, plus catering and events. The Wine Bar is its natural-wine room: small, candlelit and built around the bottle list and a short kitchen.

The Cuisine

Natural wine first, Spanish and French, with platillos from the bar's own kitchen: aperitivos, a few cold starters, four mains and three desserts.
