Background

About MariscCo

The Story

MariscCo is an informal marisqueria in la Dreta de l'Eixample, a few metres from where Rambla de Catalunya ends. The kitchen works with fish and seafood sold by weight, so diners can order exactly the quantity they want and the kitchen adjusts the preparation around it. An in-house fish counter sits in view of the open kitchen, and the menu leans on classic preparations, grilled, fried Andalusian-style, or cooked simply with garlic and parsley.

The Cuisine

The carta is built around fish and shellfish, with sections for cold counter items, deep-fried Andalusian-style, boiled, grilled, and larger fish fillets. Signatures include Galician-style octopus, grilled prawns, Donosti-style turbot, fried mix, octopus bomba and a lineup of rice dishes for two or more, lobster rice, langoustine rice, and a carabineros and zamburiñas rice. A wine list heavy on Catalan, Galician, and Rioja bottles rounds out the offer, with a separate PDF cellar card.

The Team

MariscCo is run as an informal seafood house rather than a chef-driven project. The team works with a visible fish counter at the entrance and an open kitchen, with preparations kept simple to let the product lead.
