The Story
9 Reinas was founded in 2010 by a group of friends with Argentine roots, including former RCD Espanyol footballer Martin Posse. Named after the celebrated Argentine film 'Nueve Reinas' (Nine Queens, 2000), the restaurant quickly became Barcelona's premier Argentine steakhouse. The success led to expansion into Grupo 9Reinas, now operating seven projects including 9Reinas Gourmet on Carrer de Ganduxer, 9Reinas Sant Cugat, Darvaza, Zendra, Casa Blava, and Candela en Rama.
The Cuisine
The kitchen specialises in authentic Argentine parrilla with premium cuts from Argentina, the USA, and Japan. Argentine Angus strip loin, picanha, and ribeye sit alongside US Black Angus and Wagyu selections graded up to BMS +9. Beyond the grill, the menu features handmade pasta (ravioli, tagliatelle, sorrentino), traditional empanadas, milanesas both classic and Neapolitan-style, and a notable hand-cut beef tartare.
