Paradiso restaurant
1

Paradiso

Cocktail Bar

Repsol Solete€€€€

Paradiso is the bar that put Barcelona on the global cocktail map. You enter through what looks like a pastrami shop in El Born, push through a fridge door, and land in a warm, arched room that was named No.

Sips

Cocktail Bar

€€€€

If Paradiso is theatre, Sips is precision. Opened by Simone Caporale and Marc Álvarez in the Eixample, it rethought the whole format, doing away with the traditional back bar so drinks are built around you rather than across a counter.

Boadas

Cocktail Bar

Repsol Solete€€€€

Every cocktail city needs its cathedral, and this is Barcelona's. Boadas opened in 1933, which makes it the oldest cocktail bar in the city, a tiny standing-room wedge just off La Rambla where white-jacketed bartenders still shake by hand behind a curved bar.

Dr. Stravinsky restaurant
8

Dr. Stravinsky

Cocktail Bar

€€€€

Stravinsky drinks like a laboratory in the best way. Tucked into El Born, it built its reputation on house-made ingredients, infusions, ferments and distillates prepared in-house, and a menu adventurous enough to be nominated for World's Best Cocktail Menu at the 2025 Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.

Especiarium restaurant
9

Especiarium

Cocktail Bar

€€€€

Especiarium is the most fun idea on this list. It's a tiny, low-ceilinged cocktail den in the Born where every drink is built around a single spice, and named for it. The Cardamom, gin, pisco, moscatel and sage, arrives in a vessel shaped like a cardamom pod; the Curryquiri infuses white rum with curry.

Vertical Barcelona restaurant
10

Vertical Barcelona

Wine Bar

€€€€

Vertical is the wine bar for people who take the list seriously. Built in the Eixample around one striking feature, a long glass-fronted wine fridge running the length of the room as its centrepiece, it's the project of sommeliers Bernat Voraviu and Julio Barluenga, the latter a former elBulli sommelier.

Tandem Cocktail Bar restaurant
12

Tandem Cocktail Bar

Cocktail Bar

Tandem is the neighbourhood classic that never chased a trend. A narrow, old-school cocktail bar on Aribau in the Eixample, no wider than a single garage, it runs a long varnished wooden bar with shelves of bottles down its whole length.

Caribbean Club restaurant
13

Caribbean Club

Cocktail Bar

€€€€

Caribbean Club is the city's great hidden rum bar. Opened in the 1970s and built to feel like the cabin of a boat anchored in Havana, dark wood, glass cases of antique shakers, Cuban ephemera, it sits windowless behind a discreet door near Boadas, with which it shares family roots.

Negroni restaurant
14

Negroni

Cocktail Bar

€€€€

Negroni is a small, classic cocktail bar in the Raval that does away with the printed menu entirely. You talk to the bartender, name what you're in the mood for, and they build something to fit. The room is painted a deep elegant black, a deliberate break from the aged-wood look of the older bars, and it opens evenings only from 7pm.

Casa Mariol restaurant
15

Casa Mariol

Vermut Bar

€€€€

Casa Mariol is the Barcelona outpost of a family winery from Terra Alta in southern Catalonia, now into its third generation, and it doubles as a shop, so you can drink and take bottles home. The draw is their dark vermut, bitter, with vanilla, thyme and orange peel, poured alongside their own monovarietal wines like Garnatxa Blanca.

Vermuteria Puigmartí restaurant
16

Vermuteria Puigmartí

Vermut Bar

€€€€

Vermutería Puigmartí is the modern, characterful end of the Gràcia scene, brick walls, worn wooden tables and an indie-rock soundtrack. Its calling card is a house pink vermouth from owner Agustí Camps, citrus, thyme and a hint of pomegranate, and a tapas list that wanders from Spanish tradition into Asian flavours, like smoked cod with kimchi and lime or smoked sardines with sesame.

Bodega Cal Pep Gràcia

Vermut Bar

€€€€

Not to be confused with the famous Born tapas bar, this is the old Gràcia bodega on Carrer Verdi, run by Anna and Miquel, grandchildren of the founder. Barrels in plain sight, marble tables and nearly a century of bottles on the walls set the scene for house vermut macerated with Mediterranean herbs, served with soda and olives.

19

Vermuteria del Tano

Vermut Bar

€€€€

Vermutería del Tano is a cornerstone of Gràcia social life. Marble-topped tables, an old wooden fridge and dusty bottles lining the walls give it the look of an old-Barcelona film set, and the house vermouth, its own brand, is poured cold in small glasses with canned conserves, anchovies, cockles, clams, to go with it.

La Terraza del Central

La Terraza del Central sits on the eighth floor of the Grand Hotel Central, high above Via Laietana in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. It's the rooftop of a 1920s Noucentisme building, designed by Adolf Florensa and commissioned by Francesc Cambó, and it wears that history openly: at sunset the lighting picks out a 1920s sgraffito mural by artist Oleguer Junyent that, the hotel says, is only visible from up here.

The Pulitzer Terrace is the warm-weather draw atop Hotel Pulitzer, a few steps off Plaça Catalunya on Carrer de Bergara, a plant-filled deck that trades on the Pulitzer's greenery-heavy design and runs on low-key beats after dark. It's more a leafy, central spot for a drink above the street than a destination cocktail den, and that's exactly its charm, a green pocket in the middle of the city.
