S'Hortet opened in the summer of 2014 in the Es Clot area of Deià, just off the village's main street. According to the café's own site, the founders didn't want to open just another café, but to build a multi-disciplinary space that could also host workshops, concerts and other small events for all ages. Behind the café frontage is a walled garden shaded by lemon trees, with an outdoor play area for children, highchairs and a baby-changing table inside, and a welcome for dogs.
