About Port Petit
The Story
French chef Gérard Deymier opened Port Petit in 1988, right on the marina at Cala d'Or, after years already running restaurants on the island. He'd moved to Mallorca in 1971, opened Restaurant Ibiza with his wife in 1973, and took over the old Restaurant Se Sivina in 1978 before starting this one. It's still in the family: his son Máxime now runs the kitchen.
The Cuisine
The cooking is Mediterranean with a French backbone and the odd international detour. The Michelin Guide files it as French and describes it as a mix of Mediterranean and international cuisine with French influence. You'll find an à la carte plus a set of fixed menus, including a Tasting Menu and a Bistro Menu that the restaurant rotates at lunch.
The Chef
The Team
Máxime Deymier leads the kitchen, with Jérôme Lorieux as executive chef. The family also makes its own wine under the Viña Querel label, planted by Gérard in the village of S'Alqueria Blanca, and a couple of those bottles show up on the list alongside Mallorcan, Spanish and French selections.
