The Story
La Nouvelle Famille occupies Ca'n Piquer, a village tavern building with more than 50 years of history that press coverage described as Santanyí's last remaining old-style bar before its reopening. Founders Marta Expósito and Manuel Paz took over the space and relaunched it in 2023, with the project growing directly out of their own wedding celebration held there. The renovation kept the tavern's original central bar, wood doors and windows, while new tables and metalwork came from local craftsmen, including a carpenter from Es Llombards and a blacksmith from Santanyí, alongside furnishings such as Nuta stools by Lluís Pao and pieces from Sargadelos.
