Santuari de Lluc

A monastery and pilgrimage complex in the Escorca municipality of the Serra de Tramuntana, at about 525 metres elevation, founded in the 13th century according to a tradition in which a shepherd found a statue of the Virgin Mary on the site. It remains Mallorca's most important pilgrimage destination and hosts Els Blauets, a boys' choir established in 1531. The complex today includes a boarding school, guest accommodation in former monastic cells, and a botanical trail, and is a starting point for hikes into the Tramuntana range.
