The Story

Marinero started as Bistro Marinero, a small stall inside the Mercado de Antón Martín in Lavapiés cooking market-fresh, globally inspired food. It has since moved to Calle de Mauricio Legendre 9 in Chamartín as Marinero Bar & Bodegón.

The Cuisine

Market cooking with a creative twist, built on seasonal vegetables, fresh fish and the grill. The bar menu runs to pink tomato with buffalo mozzarella and house mojama, bacalao brandada with chicken pil pil, flame-grilled aubergine with mackerel and burrata, corvina ceviche, cockles with garlic pak choi, a made-to-order tortilla with monkfish pil pil, hook-caught baby squid and roast picanha.

Breakfast and prices

Breakfast runs 08:30 to 12:00: chapata with tomato, toasts with fresh cheese and dukkah or avocado, a tortilla pincho, a porchetta bocatín, a Mahón bikini, scrambled eggs and filled ensaimadas. Bar plates are mostly €17 to €25 a ración or €9 to €13 for a half, and desserts like smoked cheesecake and rum baba run €6.50 to €7.
