Background

About Annapurna Tandoori

The Story

Annapurna Tandoori sits in Hortaleza and sets itself up as a meeting of two cultures at one table: neither only Indian nor only Nepalese, with the tandoor, the spices and the hospitality meant to sit in balance.

The Cuisine

Nepalese dishes like momos and sekuwa alongside Indian currys, tikka masala, korma and tandoori-oven plates, plus naan, biryani and rice. The menu flags allergens and carries vegetarian and vegan options.

The Nepalese Side

The momos come eight to a plate (€8.50), steamed dumplings of minced chicken breast served with Nepali achar. The Nepalese specialities section is a run of sizzlers from the tandoor: chicken sekuwa, pahadi with green chili, hariyali and achari (€13.50 each), plus a malai tikka marinated with garlic, ginger, almonds and cream, and the same sekuwa, pahadi and achari treatments for lamb (€14.95). The carta marks the spicy ones with a chili.

Tandoor and Curries

From the tandoori oven there's tandoori chicken and chicken tikka (€12.50), lamb tikka, swordfish marinated in garlic, ginger and lime, tiger prawns (€15.95) and an Annapurna mixed grill (€16.95) that puts chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, lamb tikka, a king prawn and sheek kebab on one plate. The house curries are slow-cooked and can be ordered mild or spicy; the recommended ones include butter chicken, mango chicken, lamb rogan josh, a Goan king prawn curry with coconut milk and mustard seeds, and butter paneer masala. Starters such as samosas, pakoras, aloo chop and onion bhaji run €4.50 to €5.95, and the carta is browsable in Spanish and English with allergens listed for each dish.
