Background

About Faraday

The Story

Faraday is, in its own words, a record shop, specialty café and boutique of objects, antiques, books and accessories, built around its owners' passions for music, design and coffee. It opened on Calle de San Lucas in 2018, when the street was, as Faraday puts it, quiet and almost deserted, and takes its name from the physicist Michael Faraday.

The Cuisine

Specialty coffee from a local roaster, with homemade cakes and cookies and cold drinks such as kombucha.

Getting There

On Calle de San Lucas 9, in Justicia on the Chueca side of Madrid's Centro district.

Nearby

Centro is Madrid's historic core, the district that holds Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the long climb of Gran Vía all at once. The eating is dense and varied, from old-school taverns and chocolaterías that have not changed their counters in generations to newer rooms opening along Calle de Alcalá and San Bernardo. Nearly everything in the city is a walk away from here.
