Background
About Ryushio
The Story
Ryushio is Chef Ben's project on Carrer de Santaló, opened after his previous restaurant Asagumo. The dining room pairs a bar and tables, with a lower room housing an intimate omakase counter seating eight guests. The concept focuses on contemporary Japanese cooking with classical foundations, built around product quality and technical precision.
The Cuisine
The menu runs from traditional sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and maki, to more current gourmet rolls, alongside hot dishes such as tempura, stir-fried noodles, donburis, and gyozas. At the omakase counter, the chef leads the experience with nigiri prepared to order based on the day's available product.
The Team
Chef Ben heads the kitchen, continuing a path that began at his earlier restaurant Asagumo. The team works the sushi counter and the separate omakase room, preparing cuts and nigiri à la minute.
